Samsung Galaxy Watch vs Fitbit Versa 2: The Differences
- Design
- Storage
- Tizen OS vs Watch OS
- Siri vs Bixby
- Activity Tracking
- Battery Life
There are a handful of differences between Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch. Starting from the appearance, the Watch 5 has a larger 1.78 inches display compared to 1.3 inches of Galaxy Watch, thanks to its rectangular shape. Watch 5 is also very lightweight and more compact than the Galaxy Watch. Moreover, it built with a more durable sapphire glass covering the display. Although, the Corning Gorilla Glass DX+ is also very durable and offers great clarity.
In other words, Watch 5 allows you to see more at a glance and is also more comfortable wear than the Galaxy Watch. However, the Galaxy Watch is quite bulky and bold which is why it’s recommended for men, and the physical rotating bezel is also worth noting.
With Watch 5, you get 32GB storage capacity to store your files which is far more than 4GB of the Galaxy Watch. Each of these two supports music streaming from services such as Spotify and you can also make and receive calls from any of these two.
In terms of user experience, I think Watch 5 especially with the new Watch OS 7 offers more advanced features compared to Samsung Tizen OS which isn’t doing bad, at least it’s a better platform than Wear OS for now.
Both watches are equipped with proprietary voice assistant features, while its Bixby on Galaxy watch, it Siri for Watch 5. Both platform allow you to use your voice to carry out simple tasks. I still think Siri is a more sophisticated voice assistant than Bixby.
And in terms of fitness tracking, these two are some of the best choices you’ll find on the market. Both watches will track your steps, heart rate, outdoor activity tracking, floors climbed, calories, stress management, and many more features. Although Watch 5 relies on a third-party app to track your sleep, it does however features incidental fall detection and menstrual cycle tracking which the Galaxy Watch lacks. Maybe the much expected Galaxy Watch 3 will have these features.
The Galaxy Watch has a longer battery life than the Watch 5, this where the Watch 5 flops, it can bearly last a day with mixed usage while the Galaxy Watch can see you through up to 3 days or even more depend on usage.

Verdict
Watch 5 is a more sophisticated smartwatch than Galaxy watch, but the Galaxy Watch is still one of the best smartwatches you can buy today.
If you own an iPhone, the Watch 5 is the best choice for you as it’s only compatible with iOS devices, while the Galaxy Watch is the best choice for anyone using an android phone and even better if you use a Samsung phone.
